Hello Team,
Thank you for those attending our first
practice of the year to learn the basic of dragon boating.
Next practice, we’ll build on that basic
to go little further and do some more drills.
Take a look at this video on paddling
dynamics and try to mimic this movement. I leave it up to the person how much
to bend the upper arm since everyone has comfort spot.

I also introduce participation award for
those who have the most points.
Every attendance, home work (coming
soon), extra practice with year-round team counts as a point.
Whoever has the most point will win the
award on the race day.
We were short few PFD/Life jacket at the
first practice. If you have your own, please bring it to the practice.

Also, your name doesn’t have check mark
next to your name under waiver, please do it now.

Here’s the instruction on how to fill out
the waiver.
- First, get a
verification code from SCDBC, using link http://tiny.cc/scdbcID
- Then go to the waiver
page at http://tiny.cc/scdbcwaiver
- For Type of
Participant, choose: Festival Team (for Spring Race or Long Beach
Dragon Boat Festival only)
- For Primary
Team Affiliation or Vendor Name, choose: InspirASIAN
- By this time, you should
have received Participant's Verification Code from
SCDBC. You can input the code under Participant's Verification Code.
All other
section should be self explanatory.
Schedule for 6/10/2013
10:00am-10:15am – Check in
10:15am-10:30am – Learn basic of dragon
boat paddling
10:30am-10:40am – Warm up & line up.
10:40am-10:50am – Gear up and meet at
boat
10:50am-11:00am – Line up and enter the
boat
11:00am-11:55am – On the water practice
11:55am-12:30pm – Bring up the boat and
clean
12:30pm-12:45pm – Cool down stretch
1:00pm – End of practice
